Setting Up the Brother MFC-T800W: A Detailed Guide
Materials Required:
- Brother MFC-T800W printer
- Power cord
- USB cable (optional)
- Ink bottles (black, cyan, magenta, and yellow)
Step 1: Unpack the Printer
- Remove the printer from the packaging and place it on a flat, stable surface.
- Open the front cover and remove all the protective materials.
- Close the front cover.
Step 2: Install the Ink Bottles
- Open the ink tank cover on the side of the printer.
- Remove the seals from the ink bottles.
- Align the ink bottles with the corresponding colors and insert them into the tanks.

- Open a web browser and type in the printer’s IP address in the address bar. (You can find the IP address on the printer’s control panel.)
- Enter the default password “access” and click “Login”.
- Navigate to the “Network” tab and click on “Wireless LAN”.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
Troubleshooting Common Issues:
Printer Not Connecting to Wi-Fi
- Make sure the printer is within range of the router.
- Check if the router is turned on and broadcasting a Wi-Fi signal.
- Reset the printer to its factory settings by pressing and holding the “Stop/Reset” button for 5 seconds.
Ink Not Recognized
- Make sure the ink bottles are properly installed.
- Remove the ink bottles and reinstall them.
- Clean the printhead by following the instructions in the user manual.
Paper Jams
- Open the rear cover of the printer.
- Gently remove any jammed paper.
- Make sure the paper tray is properly loaded.
- Adjust the paper guides to fit the paper size.
Printer Not Printing
- Make sure the printer is turned on and has paper loaded.
- Check if there are any errors on the printer’s control panel.
- Reset the printer to its factory settings by pressing and holding the “Stop/Reset” button for 5 seconds.
