Detailed Guide to Setting Up the Brother RJ-4030B
Unboxing and Assembly
- Open the box and remove all contents.
- Remove the protective cover from the device.
- Connect the power cord to the back of the device and plug it into an electrical outlet.
- Place the paper roll on the holder and thread it through the device according to the instructions on the machine.
Driver and Software Installation
Windows:
- Download the driver package from Brother’s website.

Mac:
- Download the P-touch Editor software from Brother’s website.
- Run the installer and follow the prompts.

Network Configuration
Wired Network:
- Connect an Ethernet cable from the device to a router.
- Open a web browser and enter the device’s IP address in the address bar. The default IP address is 192.168.1.12.
- Log in to the device using the password “admin.”
- Go to “Network Settings” and configure the network settings.
Wireless Network:
- Connect the device to your computer using a USB cable.
- Open P-touch Editor 5.
- Select “Machine” > “Network Configuration Wizard.”
- Follow the prompts to configure the wireless network settings.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
The device does not turn on:
- Check if the power cord is properly connected.
- Make sure the power outlet is working.
The paper is not feeding properly:
- Ensure that the paper roll is properly inserted and tensioned.
- Check if there is any debris or foreign objects obstructing the paper path.
The labels are not printing correctly:
- Verify that the correct label size and type are selected in P-touch Editor 5.
- Make sure the ribbon is properly installed and has enough ink.
- Clean the print head using a cotton swab moistened with isopropyl alcohol.
The device is not recognized by my computer:
- Ensure that the correct driver is installed.
- Try connecting the device to a different USB port.
- Restart your computer.
Network connectivity issues:
- Check if the RJ-4030B and your computer are connected to the same network.
- Verify that the network settings on the device are correct.
- Restart the network router and device.
Error messages:
- “Ribbon Error”: Replace the ribbon with a new one.
