Canon BJC-3000 Setup Guide
Connecting the Printer
- Remove the printer from the box and unpack it.
- Connect the power cord to the printer and a power outlet.
- Connect one end of the USB cable to the printer and the other end to an available USB port on your computer.
Installing the Software
- Insert the installation CD-ROM into your computer’s CD/DVD drive.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to install the printer driver and software.
- When prompted, select the “Connect to Printer” option.
Loading Paper and Ink
- Open the printer’s paper tray.
- Load plain paper into the tray, aligning it with the guides.

- Use the arrow keys to navigate to “Maintenance” and press “OK”.
- Select “Align Print Head” and press “OK”.
- The printer will print a test pattern.
- Scan the test pattern using the Handheld Scanner.
- Press the “OK” button to complete the alignment.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
Printer Not Printing:
- Check that the printer is turned on and connected to the computer.
- Ensure that the USB cable is securely connected at both ends.
- Restart the printer and computer.
- Reinstall the printer driver.
Print Quality Issues:
- Check the ink levels and replace any empty cartridges.
- Clean the print head using the cleaning utility in the printer software.
- Adjust the print quality settings in the printer driver.
Paper Feed Issues:
- Ensure that the paper is loaded correctly and aligns with the guides.
- Check for any paper jams inside the printer.
- Adjust the paper type setting in the printer driver.
Error Messages:
- “Paper Jam”: Check for any obstructions in the paper path and clear the jam.
- “Out of Paper”: Load paper into the printer.
- “Ink Cartridge Not Recognized”: Ensure that the ink cartridges are properly installed and replace any empty cartridges.
- “Print Head Alignment Error”: Realign the print head as described above.
Other Issues:
- If the printer is making noise, check for any loose parts or obstructions.
- If the printer is overheated, let it cool down before continuing to print.
