Setting Up the Canon PIXMA iP3000 Printer
Materials You’ll Need:
- Canon PIXMA iP3000 printer
- Power cable
- USB cable (for connecting to a computer)
- Ink cartridges (CLI-226, CLI-225, PGI-525)

Step 1: Unbox and Remove Packaging
- Remove the printer from the box and any protective packaging.
- Open the main cover and remove all orange tape and plastic guards.
Step 2: Install Ink Cartridges
- Lift up the ink cartridge lid.
- Remove the protective orange caps from the ink cartridges.
- Align the cartridges with their designated slots and insert them firmly.

- Close the paper cassette and paper support.
Step 5: Install Printer Drivers
- Insert the Canon software installation disc into your computer.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to install the printer drivers.
Step 6: Align Print Head
- Once the drivers are installed, open the Canon printer settings.
- Select “Maintenance” or “Printer Preferences.”
- Click on “Align Print Head.”
- Follow the on-screen instructions to align the print head.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
1. Printer Not Recognized:
– Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both devices.
– Try using a different USB cable.
– Restart the printer and computer.
2. Print Quality Issues:
– Check the ink cartridges and replace any empty or low cartridges.
– Clean the print head by following the instructions in the user manual.
– Adjust the paper type in the printer settings to match the paper you are using.
3. Paper Jams:
– Open the paper cassette and remove any jammed paper.
– Close the paper cassette and try printing again.
– If the jam persists, gently shake the printer to loosen the paper.
4. Computer Not Communicating with Printer:
– Check the USB cable connection and ensure it is not damaged.
– Restart the printer and computer.
– Reinstall the printer drivers.
5. Low Ink Warning:
– Replace the empty or low ink cartridges as soon as possible.
– Continue printing until the ink runs out completely, but note that the print quality may deteriorate.
