Setting Up the Canon PIXMA MG4280 Wireless Printer

Step 1: Unbox the Printer

Carefully remove the printer from the box and place it on a stable, flat surface. Remove all packaging materials.

Step 2: Install the Ink Tanks

  1. Open the ink tank cover.
  2. Remove the orange protective caps from the ink tanks.

  3. Select Wireless Connection Setup.
  4. Follow the wizard to complete the wireless setup.

Using the iOS or Android App:

  1. Download the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app from the App Store or Google Play.
  2. Open the app and tap Set Up Printer.
  3. Follow the in-app instructions to connect the printer to your mobile device via Bluetooth.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

Printer Not Connecting to Wi-Fi:

  • Ensure that the Wi-Fi password is correct.
  • Check if the router is within range of the printer.
  • Reset the printer by pressing and holding the Stop button for 5 seconds.

Paper Jams:

  • Turn off the printer and remove the paper tray.
  • Gently pull out any jammed paper.
  • Reinsert the paper tray and restart the printer.

Print Quality Issues:

  • Clean the print heads by running the Cleaning function from the maintenance menu on the printer’s LCD screen.
  • Replace empty or low ink tanks.
  • Check the paper quality and ensure it is compatible with the printer.

Error Messages:

  • Ink absorber full: Contact Canon support for a printer service.
  • Paper not loaded: Ensure that the paper tray is correctly loaded with paper.
  • Cartridge not recognized: Reinsert the ink cartridge and restart the printer. If the error persists, replace the ink cartridge.
