Canon S4500 Setup Guide

Unboxing and Setup

  1. Unpack the printer: Remove the printer from the box and all accessories, including the power cord, ink cartridges, and USB cable.
  2. Install the cartridges: Open the printer cover and insert the color and black ink cartridges into their respective slots.
  3. Connect the power cord: Plug the power cord into the printer and the other end into a wall outlet.
  4. Turn on the printer: Press the power button on the printer.

Software Installation

  1. Insert the setup CD: Insert the Canon S4500 software disc into your computer’s disc drive.

Printer Not Connecting to the Computer

  • Check the USB cable: Ensure the USB cable is properly connected at both ends, to the printer and your computer.
  • Restart the printer: Turn off the printer and unplug it for a few minutes. Then, plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Uninstall and reinstall the software: Remove the Canon S4500 software from your computer and reinstall it, following the instructions above.

Printer Not Printing

  • Check the ink levels: Make sure there is sufficient ink in the cartridges. Replace any empty or low cartridges.
  • Check the paper tray: Load paper into the printer’s paper tray and adjust the paper guides accordingly.
  • Clean the printer nozzles: Run a nozzle cleaning operation through the printer’s maintenance menu. This can remove any clogs in the ink nozzles.
  • Reset the printer: Press and hold the stop button on the printer for about 5 seconds. This will reset the printer to its factory settings.
