Epson B-308 Installation Guide

Equipment Required

  • Epson B-308 printer
  • USB cable
  • Ink cartridges (supplied)
  • Paper

Step 1: Unpack and Prepare the Printer

  • Unpack the printer and remove all packaging materials.
  • Keep the packaging for possible future use.
  • Remove the protective tape from the printer head cover.

Step 2: Install the Ink Cartridges

  • Lift the scanner unit.
  • Open the ink cartridge access door.
  • Remove the protective caps from the ink cartridges.
  • Insert the black cartridge into the left slot and the color cartridge into the right slot.
  • Push down on the cartridges until they click into place.

  • Open the rear paper feed tray.

  • Load the paper into the tray and push it in until it stops.
  • Close the rear paper feed tray.

Step 4: Connect the Printer

  • Connect the USB cable to the printer and your computer.
  • Ensure that both the printer and computer are turned on.

Step 5: Install the Software

  • Insert the software disc into your computer’s CD/DVD drive.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to install the software.

Step 6: Printer Initialization

  • Once the software is installed, the printer will go through an initialization process.
  • This may take several minutes.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

Printer Not Recognized by Computer:

  • Ensure that the USB cable is securely connected to both the printer and computer.
  • Try using a different USB cable.
  • Uninstall and reinstall the printer software.

Ink Cartridge Error:

  • Make sure the correct ink cartridges are installed in the proper slots.
  • Remove and reinstall the ink cartridges.
  • Clean the ink cartridge contacts with a soft, dry cloth.

Paper Jam:

  • Open the rear paper feed tray and remove any jammed paper.
  • Ensure that the paper is loaded correctly and the paper guides are adjusted properly.

Print Quality Issues:

  • Run the nozzle check utility from the printer’s control panel.
  • Clean the print head using the utility on the printer’s control panel.
  • Replace the ink cartridges if they are low or empty.

Wireless Connection Issues:

  • Make sure the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer.
  • Check the printer’s Wi-Fi signal strength to ensure it is strong.
  • Reset the printer’s Wi-Fi settings from the printer’s control panel.
