Epson ET-4550 Series Setup Guide

Unboxing and Setup

  1. Unpack: Remove the printer from the box and place it on a flat, stable surface.
  2. Install Ink Tanks: Open the printer’s front cover and remove the protective caps from the ink tanks. Insert the tanks into their corresponding slots and press down until they click.
  3. Connect Power: Plug the printer into a power source.
  4. Install Firmware: If prompted, connect the printer to a computer or Wi-Fi network and follow the on-screen instructions to install the latest firmware.

Network Connection

Wi-Fi Setup:

Troubleshooting Common Issues

Printer Not Connecting to Wi-Fi:

  • Ensure that the printer is within range of your Wi-Fi router.
  • Make sure your Wi-Fi password is correct.
  • Reset the printer’s Wi-Fi settings by pressing and holding the Wi-Fi button for 3 seconds.

Ink Tank Not Recognized:

  • Check that the ink tank is properly inserted and securely clicked into place.
  • If the problem persists, replace the ink tank with a new one.

Paper Jam:

  • Open the printer’s cover and gently remove the jammed paper.
  • If the paper is torn, carefully remove all pieces.
  • Reload the paper ensuring it is straight and free of wrinkles.

Printer Not Printing:

  • Check that the printer is turned on and connected to power.
  • Make sure the paper tray contains paper.
  • Verify that there is ink in the tanks.
  • Clean the print head by following the instructions in the printer’s user manual.

Low Ink Level:

  • Purchase and replace the empty ink tanks with new ones.
  • If the ink level is low but not empty, you can continue printing until the ink runs out.
