Epson ET-4550 Series Setup Guide
Unboxing and Setup
- Unpack: Remove the printer from the box and place it on a flat, stable surface.
- Install Ink Tanks: Open the printer’s front cover and remove the protective caps from the ink tanks. Insert the tanks into their corresponding slots and press down until they click.
- Connect Power: Plug the printer into a power source.
- Install Firmware: If prompted, connect the printer to a computer or Wi-Fi network and follow the on-screen instructions to install the latest firmware.
Network Connection
Wi-Fi Setup:
- Press the Wi-Fi button on the printer’s control panel.
- Select the “Wi-Fi Setup” option.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to connect to your Wi-Fi network.
Ethernet Setup:
- Connect an Ethernet cable from your printer to a router or network switch.
- Ensure that your printer is turned on and connected to the network.
Paper Loading
- Open the front or top paper tray.
- Adjust the paper guides to the appropriate paper size.
- Load the paper with the printable side facing up.
- Close the paper tray.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
Printer Not Connecting to Wi-Fi:
- Ensure that the printer is within range of your Wi-Fi router.
- Make sure your Wi-Fi password is correct.
- Reset the printer’s Wi-Fi settings by pressing and holding the Wi-Fi button for 3 seconds.
Ink Tank Not Recognized:
- Check that the ink tank is properly inserted and securely clicked into place.
- If the problem persists, replace the ink tank with a new one.
Paper Jam:
- Open the printer’s cover and gently remove the jammed paper.
- If the paper is torn, carefully remove all pieces.
- Reload the paper ensuring it is straight and free of wrinkles.
Printer Not Printing:
- Check that the printer is turned on and connected to power.
- Make sure the paper tray contains paper.
- Verify that there is ink in the tanks.
- Clean the print head by following the instructions in the printer’s user manual.
Low Ink Level:
- Purchase and replace the empty ink tanks with new ones.
- If the ink level is low but not empty, you can continue printing until the ink runs out.
