Epson PX-404A Setup Guide
Unboxing and Powering Up
- Unpack the printer and all its components.
- Remove all the protective packaging materials.
- Place the printer on a flat and stable surface.
- Connect the power cord to the printer and an electrical outlet.
- Press the power button to turn on the printer.
Installing the Ink Cartridges
- Open the front cover of the printer.
- Pull out the ink cartridge holder.
- Remove the old ink cartridges (if any) and insert the new ones.
- Black cartridge goes in the left slot.
- Color cartridge goes in the right slot.
- Push the ink cartridge holder back into the printer.
- Close the front cover.
Loading Paper
- Pull out the paper tray.
- Load plain paper into the paper tray with the printable side facing up.
- Adjust the paper guides to fit the paper size.
- Push the paper tray back into the printer.
Connecting to a Computer
USB Connection:
- Connect one end of the USB cable to the back of the printer.
- Connect the other end of the USB cable to a USB port on your computer.
- Install the printer driver from the provided CD or download it from the Epson website.
Wi-Fi Connection:
- Press the Wi-Fi button on the printer.
- The Wi-Fi light will start blinking.
- On your computer, navigate to the Wi-Fi settings and select the printer’s Wi-Fi network.
- Enter the password (usually found on the printer’s LCD panel or the router).
- Once connected, follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
Printer Not Printing
- Ensure the printer is powered on and connected to your computer.
- Check if there is paper loaded in the paper tray.
- Make sure the ink cartridges are properly installed.
- Clean the print heads by following the instructions in the printer’s manual.
Print Quality Issues
- Replace old or low-quality ink cartridges.
- Perform a nozzle check to ensure the print heads are not clogged.
- Adjust the print settings to a higher quality mode.
Wireless Connection Problems
- Ensure your Wi-Fi router is turned on and in range of the printer.
- Check if the Wi-Fi light on the printer is blinking. If not, press the Wi-Fi button to connect.
- Reset the Wi-Fi settings on the printer by pressing and holding the Wi-Fi button for 5 seconds.

- Paper Jams: Remove the paper jam and inspect the printer for any damage.
