Epson PX-605F Series Setup Guide

Step 1: Unboxing and Setup

  1. Open the printer box and remove all components, including the printer unit, ink cartridges, power cable, and setup guide.
  2. Remove all protective materials and packaging.
  3. Place the printer on a flat, stable surface.

Step 2: Installing Ink Cartridges

  1. Open the front cover and lift up the ink carriage cover.
  2. Remove any protective tape or packaging from the ink cartridges.
  3. Insert each ink cartridge into the corresponding color slot until it clicks into place.
  4. Close the ink carriage cover and front cover.

Step 3: Loading Paper

  1. Open the front cover.
  2. Lift up the paper support flap.
  3. Insert paper into the paper tray with the printable side facing up.
  4. Slide the paper width guides inward until they lightly touch the paper edges.
  5. Close the front cover.

Step 4: Connecting to Power and Computer

  1. Plug the power cable into the printer and a nearby power outlet.
  2. Turn on the printer by pressing the power button.
  3. Connect the printer to your computer using a USB cable (not included).

Step 5: Software Installation

  1. Insert the included software CD into your computer’s CD drive.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the printer software.
  3. Select your printer model when prompted.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

Printing Issues:

  • Blank pages: Check that the ink cartridges are properly installed and have sufficient ink.
  • Faint or streaky printing: Clean the print heads by following the instructions in the printer software.
  • Paper jams: Remove all paper from the paper tray, check for any obstructions, and reload the paper.
  • Print quality issues: Replace the ink cartridges with new ones.

Connectivity Issues:

  • Unable to connect via USB: Ensure that the USB cable is securely connected at both ends and that it’s not damaged. Restart both the printer and computer.
  • Unable to connect via Wi-Fi: Check that Wi-Fi is enabled on the printer and that you have the correct network password. Restart the router and printer.

Other Issues:

  • Printer not responding: Restart the printer by turning it off and back on.
  • Error messages: Refer to the printer’s user manual for specific error codes and solutions.
  • Paper size not supported: Ensure that you have selected the correct paper size in the printer settings.
