Setting Up Your Epson Stylus NX635 Printer

Before You Start:

  • Unpack the printer and remove all packaging materials.

Connecting the Printer:

  4. Align the new ink cartridge with the corresponding color port.
  5. Push the cartridge into the port until it clicks into place.
  6. Repeat for the other ink cartridge.
  7. Close the print head assembly and front cover.

Installing the Software:

  1. Insert the Epson software CD into your computer’s CD drive.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the printer software.
  3. Select your printer when prompted.
  4. Choose the “Full Install” option to install all available features.

Testing the Printer:

  1. Power: Turn on the printer.
  2. Test Print: From your computer, open the printer settings and select the “Test Print” option.
  3. Confirm that the test page prints successfully.

Troubleshooting Common Issues:

Printer not recognized by computer:
– Ensure that the USB cable is securely connected to both the printer and computer.
– Restart the printer and computer.
– Reinstall the printer software.

Printer not printing:
– Check the ink levels and replace any empty cartridges.
– Reseat the ink cartridges and ensure they are clicked into place.
– Clean the print head by following the instructions in the printer’s user manual.
– Check if the paper tray is empty or misaligned.

Poor print quality:
– Clean the print head.
– Use high-quality paper.
– Set the correct paper type in the printer settings.
– Adjust the print quality settings in the printer driver.

Error messages:
“Ink cartridge not recognized”: Ensure the ink cartridge is compatible with your printer and is installed correctly.
“Paper mismatch”: Check the paper size and type against the printer settings.
“Print head error”: Clean the print head or contact Epson support for further troubleshooting.
