Epson Stylus Photo PX730 Setup Guide

Unboxing and Setup

  1. Remove the printer from the packaging and remove all protective materials.
  2. Connect the power cable to the printer and an electrical outlet.
  3. Turn on the printer and lift the control panel.
  4. Remove the blue protective tape from the printhead and insert it into the printer.
  5. Open the ink cartridges box and shake each cartridge vigorously.
  6. Remove the yellow protection caps from the ink cartridges and insert them into their corresponding slots.
  7. Close the control panel and wait for the printer to initialize.

Connecting to Wi-Fi

  1. On your computer or mobile device, open the Wi-Fi settings.
  2. Select the network named “Epson XXX-XXXXXX” (where XXX is the last digits of the printer’s serial number).
  3. Enter the password “epson930”.
  4. Once connected, open a web browser and type http://10.0.0.1 into the address bar.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the Wi-Fi setup.

Installing Drivers and Software

  1. Insert the CD that came with the printer into your computer.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the printer drivers and software.
  3. Once the installation is complete, you can connect your printer to your computer via USB cable.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

Printer Not Responding:

  • Check if the printer is turned on and connected to a power outlet.
  • Unplug the power cable and plug it back in.
  • Restart the printer.

Print Quality Issues:

  • Ensure you are using genuine Epson ink cartridges.
  • Check if the paper type selected in the printer settings matches the paper you are using.

  • Restart the scanning software and try again.

Paper Jams:

  • Open the back cover of the printer and remove the jammed paper.
  • Close the back cover and restart the printing process.
  • If the paper jam persists, contact Epson support.

Error Codes:

  • Error 02: Ink cartridges are not installed properly.
  • Error 12: Printhead is missing or not recognized.
  • Error 13: Ink cartridge is empty or not recognized.
  • Error 14: Paper is jammed.
  • Error 31: Printer is overheating.
