Setting Up the Xerox Phaser 8500N

Unboxing and Preparation

  1. Carefully unpack the printer from its box.
  2. Remove all protective packaging and materials.

    • Power cord

Hardware Installation

  2. Remove the used toner cartridge and drum unit by grasping the handle and pulling it straight out.
  3. Unpack the new toner cartridge and drum unit.
  4. Insert the toner cartridge into the designated slot.
  5. Insert the drum unit into the designated slot and close the front cover.

Software Installation

  1. Insert the software and documentation CD into your computer’s optical drive.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the printer driver and software.
  3. If prompted, connect the printer to your computer via USB or network during the software installation.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

Printer Does Not Power On

  • Check if the power cord is securely connected to the printer and power outlet.
  • Ensure the power switch on the back of the printer is turned on.

Printer Offline
