Comprehensive Guide to Setting Up the Canon SmartBase MP700

Unboxing and Assembly

  1. Remove all components from the box and make sure they are present.
  2. Connect the base unit to the power adapter and plug it into a power outlet.

  4. Open the scanner lid and place the document feeder on top of the scanner unit.

Software Installation

  2. Open the document or photo you want to print and tap on the Share icon.
  3. Select Print from the menu and choose the SmartBase MP700 as the printer.

Printing Problems:

  • Blank pages: Check the ink levels and ensure that the ink tanks are properly inserted.
  • Smudged or faded prints: Check the paper type and quality. Use high-quality paper designed for inkjet printers.
  • Misaligned prints: Adjust the paper alignment settings in the printer driver or software.

Scanning Problems:

  • Scanner not recognized: Make sure the document feeder is correctly attached and that the scanner lid is fully open.
  • Blurred or distorted scans: Clean the scanner glass with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Scanning to computer not working: Ensure that the computer and printer are connected and that the correct scanning settings are selected in the software.

Wireless Problems:

  • Can’t connect to Wi-Fi: Check that the printer is within range of the router, and that the network password is correct. Reset the printer’s wireless settings if necessary.
  • Slow printing or scanning over Wi-Fi: Ensure that the signal strength is strong and that there is no interference from other devices on the network.
  • Wi-Fi connection keeps dropping: Try moving the printer closer to the router or using a Wi-Fi extender.

Other Issues:

  • Paper jams: Carefully remove any jammed paper from the designated paper output tray or inside the printer.
  • Ink leakage: Turn off the printer and replace the faulty ink tank.
