Epson EP-4004 Setup Guide

Unboxing and Assembly

  1. Remove the printer from the box and remove all packaging materials.
  2. Place the printer on a flat, stable surface.
  3. Open the paper tray and load plain paper up to the guides.
  4. Lift the scanner lid and remove the protective packaging.
  5. Connect the power cord to the printer and a power outlet.

Software Installation

  1. Insert the included CD-ROM into your computer’s optical drive.
  2. Follow the on-screen prompts to install the printer driver and software.
  3. Select the “Wi-Fi Connection” option during software installation.

Wi-Fi Setup

  1. Ensure your computer and printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  2. Open the printer settings on your computer.
  3. Click on “Wi-Fi Settings” or “Network Settings.”
  4. Select your Wi-Fi network from the list and enter the password.
  5. Click “Connect” or “Apply.”

Print Head Installation

  1. Turn on the printer and wait for the print head cradle to move to the center.
  2. Carefully remove the orange protective caps from the print head.
  3. Insert the print head into the cradle, making sure to align the colored dots correctly.
  4. Push down gently on the print head until it clicks into place.

Ink Tank Installation

  1. Open the ink tank cover.
  2. Remove the orange caps from the bottom of the ink tanks.
  3. Insert the ink tanks into their corresponding slots, pushing down until they click.
  4. Close the ink tank cover.

Initial Calibration

  1. The printer will automatically print a calibration page.
  2. Follow the instructions on the calibration page to align the print head.
  3. Place the calibration page on the scanner glass and press the “Copy” button.
  4. The printer will adjust the print head alignment accordingly.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

Printer not printing:

  • Check if the printer is powered on and connected to the wall outlet.
  • Ensure the paper tray is loaded with paper.
  • Verify that the ink tanks have sufficient ink and are installed correctly.
  • Check the printer’s connection to your computer or Wi-Fi network.
  • Run a test print from the computer or the printer’s control panel.

Printer not connecting to Wi-Fi:

  • Check if your Wi-Fi network is working properly.
  • Ensure that your computer and the printer are connected to the same network.
  • Try entering the Wi-Fi password manually.
  • Reset the printer’s Wi-Fi settings and try connecting again.

Print quality issues:

  • Check if the print head nozzles are clogged. You can clean the nozzles through the printer settings or by using the included cleaning kit.
  • Use high-quality paper and inks for optimal print quality.
  • Calibrate the print head if necessary (refer to the Initial Calibration section).
