Unboxing and Assembly
- Remove all exterior packaging.
- Lift the printer out of the box and place it on a sturdy surface.
- Remove the front and rear protective covers.
- Unpack the toner cartridges and imaging drum.
Toner and Imaging Drum Installation
- Open the front door of the printer.
- Grasp the toner cartridge handle and gently rock it back and forth to loosen it.
- Pull the toner cartridge straight out of the printer.
- Pull the imaging drum unit out of the printer.
- Remove the new toner cartridge from its packaging.
- Remove the protective cover from the new imaging drum unit.
- Insert the new imaging drum unit into the printer.
- Slide the new toner cartridge into the printer until it clicks into place.
- Close the front door of the printer.
Network Connection
- Connect an Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on the back of the printer and to your network.
- Turn on the printer.
- Wait for the printer to establish a network connection, indicated by a solid green light next to the Ethernet port.
Software Installation
- Insert the software CD into your computer’s DVD drive.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to install the HP Print and Scan Doctor software.
- Click on “Connect a new printer” and select your printer from the list.
